PERFUME AND TV AD

Information On Research

Primary
This is what you would do to find information about your own product by making questionnaires and getting the answers and information first hand its new information no one has heard it before.

Secondary
You would also use this as research for your product yet you would use google and search engines where other people may have use the information before you.

Quantitative
This is to do with your questionnaires and say you surveyed 100  people you would be able to add up all the answers like check boxes for information and would be able to get percentage. Very simple answer maybe just one word.

Qualitative
Qualitative if for questionnaires aswell but this is more detailed answers from your audience such as them giving their opinion about certain subjects or products and you can take the information to improver certain thing its not an over all answer that is simple very detailed.

Unit 18 questionnaire designs

Task 7 Perfumepptx

Unit 7 questionnaire summary

People who filled out my questionnaire for my magazine  ideas said mostly good comments and said how all my images fit well for the magazine target audience and would go really well. Improvements i could make is change the colour scheme from white red and black to more of a range. Some people said my layout was really good where as others said i could improve that by arranging it more clearly, and use a wider range of fonts so there not all the same. I am really pleased with my feedback comments and if i did have to change my ideas i would do what the feedback says and change my fonts and colours. Although i photoshopped my images if i was to do this task again i would like to use my own original images.

UNIT 18 target audience

unit 18 Target Audience

7C MAGAZINE

18C analysis

How does your finished product compare to your design?
My finished product is just what i wanted for my final design it is very similar to my design i am glad the background has nicki minaj and that the whole thing relates to the theme summer breeze

How has technology helped you turn your design into a real product?
By using the Apple Mac Computers has helped me loads because using photoshop on the Mac is a lot easier to use and i am glad i have learnt new skills. Another way that technology helped me was that I was able to use photoshop to edit my pictures to make them more like my own. Also, using the scanner helped as it enabled me to draw my block designs on paper and then scan them onto a memory stick to then be able to use them.

Do you feel that your product is suitable for your target audience?
I feel that my product is very suitable for my target audience as I have designed it for girls/women and from my final feedback they all liked these ideas and the ideas of flowers round my advertisment.

Describe two challenges you have overcome?
My main problem i over come was using the photoshop but i managed to learn how to do this and now know how to make my photos look professional and of high standards.

Describe the technical skills you have gained?
Technically I think I can produce a successful piece on Photoshop now without much help at all as I have had lots of practice, as I used it when I created my Magazine, and also when I created my TV Listings magazine cover aswell as my perfume ad.

18 evaluate questions

People who filled out my questionnaire for my perfume advert ideas said mostly good comments and said how all my images of nicki minaj fit well and would go really well with the perfume bottle that I had chosen and had said that  they all go with my summer theme. some of the improvements people said I could make to my ideas were that my perfume bottle could of had more detail on it or  that I maybe could of got a different background image to give off the real summer theme and less busy so the bottle had more focus also so that the name of my brand and perfume stood out more aswell. I am really pleased with my feedback comments and if i did have to change my ideas I would maybe make the bottle more of the focus in the shot.

Unit 7 evaluation

All my audience feedback were mostly all good comments which I was really happy about they all said that they would buy it in a shop and they all said that is suited my target audience, this means that I have made my magazine correctly for my target audience and that I have given off the right image for my magazine. Im also happy with the results from the feedback because the people that done the questionnaire were in the right age group for the target market so that tells me I have done well with making my magazine. I could make the magazine better by the improvements people said to make the back ground less busy and more focus on the cover lines, I could also have advertised more local brands such as River Island and Topshop.

My finished product is very similar to my design. I wanted my magazine to stand out and suit my target audience so I new that I had to make it similar to all the fashion magazines out there. my product has turned out how I wanted it to and has followed all my planning that i wanted it to be like so my magazine is similar to my design. Due to technology I have created and developed my fashion magazine successfully. I have used photoshop 3 times before so I felt quite confident using it, and i new that other pieces have turned out really well when using photoshop.  photo shop has also helped with making my design look really professional and which i really love.

I feel strongly that my product is suitable for my target audience I have had a lot of positive feedback from people and they have said that they agree that it suits my target market. I think that the colours that I have used suit my target audience because they are girly and they match my main image which is a teenage girl.
I have experienced a few challenges while working with photo shop but have managed to over come them but working out which tool is which and when to use them i managed to do this by working hard and for a long period of time I also had help from one of my class mates when I really struggled. In my opinion i have learnt many technical skills such as being able to download pictures and making a successful product on photoshop.

I wish to use photoshop in the future because it makes designs into actual products and makes them look very professional and realistic. I also think that with media photoshop is very helpful and makes people aware with how adverts and magazines are made.

7a reports on technology

University of Hertingham - Administration Department To Mrs. A. Garner, Head of AdministrationFrom: Olivia CookeDate: Thursday 23rd February
There is due to be an upcoming event for a ‘Top Note’ award ceremony. I have
been asked to research three printed products for this event. We need to processposters, invitations for award winners and VIPs and programme sheets for allguests who intend the award ceremony. The requirements needed when making the poster, invitations and programmesare very specific. Firstly, the posters should be designed by an art student andreflect the creative nature of the award winners work. 30 posters would besufficient for the university site. Secondly, the invitations should have a highquality feel to them, as this is the most prestigious award department
give’s each
year. There will be 40 award winners and 25 VIP guests. Last of all, theprogramme is only a running order and can be a mass printed on A5 paper. 300should be enough to cover the largest number of guests expected. There are five different print technologies that I have investigated, however, onlyfour which might be suitable. I can recommend the following as the best for eachtask. The first printing technology I have investigated is Intaglio. The process of thisprinting is to have a metal plate as in this printing the ink settles in the sunkenareas of the metal plate and then the smoothed surface of the plate is wipedclean. The plate, in contact with damp paper is then passed through a rollerpress that has to have a lot of pressure on to it. The paper is then forced into thesunken areas to receive the ink. This process of using this method is very timeconsuming and needs a highly skilled printmaker to create it. Also to make theproduct, it is very expensive to create, this means that this method is not suitablefor the requirements they wish to have as it is more suitable for a home as it isvery high quality work.Secondly, the process of letterpress is to use an image or text to place throughrollers, which will press the paper against a plate. Each letter is set in a block byhand so it does require perfection. However this type of printing process isexpensive but I do believe that it is a good technique for the invitations, as thewriting will be printed out presentable and accurate.Thirdly, the process of linocut or woodcut and letterpress printer is theengraving and shaping of the product. Once you have engraved and shaped theoutline of the image or the text or anything that wants to be presented. Thecolour ink is then placed around the outline of it, which will make the foregroundstand out with different colours. Now it is then placed through a letterpress

printer, so the ink and colour gets into the grooves. I believe that this methodwill be good for the poster, as there are two types of mechanical printingtechniques that are being used. There does need to be skilled work being used, which does mean that it will be a little expensive. However, I do believe that it ismoney well spent as it would be a good idea to keep the less expensive methodsfor the other products, so that there is more money to be spend on othermethods.Lastly, Offset litho or digital printing is a method of printing that could be used asit is suitable for a large amount of copies as it works at a rapid pace. Within themethod it produces mostly writing. There are some differences between digitaland offset litho printing. Firstly, digital printing involves not much setting p andthen a cost for each copy. However, offset litho involves more setting up and aprintable plate to create the first copy, but the cost per copy is much cheaper. Aguide to the expense would be that if digital was wanted then it would becheaper to print up to 500 items, however, if you wish to print using offset lithomethod then it would be best to print over 500 items. Digital printing can take upto 2-3 working days, whereas, offset litho can take up to 5 working days. Overall,I believe that the digital printing is the most suitable method to use as it wouldbe suitable for the programmes as it will be less costly and there are 300 copieswhich need to be printed, therefore, using digital printing will be most suitableas far as time consuming.Overall, I believe that the method which should be used for making theprogrammes should be offset litho/digital, the reason I think this is because it isa cheap method for a large amount of copies and has a fast pace when printing. As of the cost per print being as low as 5p, this would mean that as there is 300programmes required, this would mean that it would only cost at an average of £15.00, which does give us a reasonable amount of the budget left to spend onthe invitations and the poster. The required amounts for the invitations are 40with 25 VIP and for the posters are only 30. Due to us having a budget o £485 left I believe that using the letterpress to create the invitations is suitable as of itsaccuracy and presentation. Lastly, I believe that the linocut method is best for theposter as it is the most arty and well presented for the poster.

18A advertising standards authority

The role of the advertising standards agency is for them to give out a set of rules/guidelines/laws which all advert has to be based on. For example a few rules are that you cannot encourage stupid behaviour, be to offensive and cannot include abuse or discriminaton.

18C CAP codes

My advert fits all the CAP codes used by the Advertising Standards Agency. It doesn’t contain any rude or inappropriate images and it doesn’t outrageously lie to anyone for example although it has Nicki Minaj on my products advertising poster  it not directly tell anyone they will be like her.

Unit 7b Permissions

Model Release It is essential for photographers to ask permission when using a model especially when a photograph is recognisable of a person, even if the face is not visible when used in advertising. A model release is required when: Parts of the body can be recognised, eg tattoos birthmarks ect A silhouette of a person if it can be identified from its location People in crowd shots, if that person is considered to be the focus of the shot. No matter what the product being advertised is,it is necessary to get a release from that person who will appear to promote the product. When using an image of a deceased celebrity you are still required to seek permission from the celebritys estate, unless the celebrity has been deceased for 50 years or more no permission is required. models under 16 Models under the age of 16 will require a parent or legal guardian's signature. If using an image of miserable or bruised child it should never be used to illustrate abused children and the picture must be clearly marked "POSED BY MODELS", permissions must be sought from your local authority. Property Release Property Release is also required when a building is used in advertising in some countrys. A property release is required: If a private home is the focus of the shot If the image of the interior of a building makes the building recognisable If objects inside a building such as paintings or art work are used then a release if necessary from the copyright holder.
